Cecily Plum's original maternity clothes collection came from discussions amongst a group of pregnant mummies; when it came to maternity clothes we all agreed that someone should find better quality, better-looking clothes for real pregnant mums and bumps to wear, and that 'someone' should sell their maternity collection on the internet, so people like us could buy them (we're hours from the nearest big town here). I decided to be that mum!
Fast forward over two years and we've got a rich treasury of clothes and bags that pretty much any new mum, or mum-to-be, would enjoy browsing through, including maternity dresses and tunics, maternity tops and trousers, maternity knitwear and coming soon, our first maternity coat. We know that not everyone can breastfeed, but we want to support those that can, and sometimes it's tough on mum, and nursing clothes help make it easier to feed baby, and make mummy feel happier. Cecily Plum has a breastfeeding clothes range that is just about second-to-none, and we're adding new clothes all the time. All our breastfeeding clothes look good, and they also let you feed baby as discretely as you like; and all items have style and easy-access built right in.
It's not just clothes that matter though. Bags are BIG at Cecily Plum, and I mean baby changing bags. However, we only stock baby bags that mummies will like. If mummy has to carry it, then mummy should love it. But there are other added benefits to this! Firstly, when baby has finished needing the baby bag, mummy can carry on using it for herself, which means the bag is not wasted. Secondly, the bag will cheer mummy up (even if it's just a little bit) and make her a fashionable lady with a lovely bag, not just a tired mummy carting around nappies and baby wipes and baby clothes and toys. It's a subtle difference, obviously.
Of course any of these things make good pregnant or new Mum gifts, and we also sell full-on gifts to reward us for being mummies, which I'm sure you'll agree is more than fair! So let your important others know and see what they get you!
Being pregnant or a new mum is often a magical time, but sometimes it can also be uncomfortable and tiring. It may even feel like it will go on like that for ever!
Now, obviously, I can't make your pregnancy shorter, and I can't make baby's colic go away (I feel tired just writing that word), but our clothes, and bags and gifts really can help to make you feel more comfortable and stylish every day. And, silly as it might sound, looking in the mirror and feeling good about yourself can really make a difference.
